You can enjoy the mystical ceremony of the dervishes in a very ancient caravanserai, or inn for caravans of trade, pilgrimage and military. This caravanserai is located 5 miles east of Avanos in the Kayseri-Aksaray road, and is known as Sarı Han. It consists of an indoor area with 5 towers and a courtyard. Sarı Han was built in 1238. It had a Turkish bath and a mesjid. The indoor and external area (excluding the towers and portal) is 2,000-m ²

Generally; it was rectangular building with a single portal, wide enough to allow passage of large or fairly loaded beasts such as camels. The courtyard was almost always open, and around the stables were, niches and chambers for merchants, their servants and their merchandise.

The caravanserai provided water for consumption by people and animals and for washing and ritual ablutions. Sometimes they made bathrooms. Stored forage and sometimes had shops where guests could stock up, or even sell their wares.
